AC Milan v Manchester United
Verdict: Milan will look to continue their fine record against their English counterparts as they hold a 4-0 record over them in previous Champions League meetings. Under the guidance of Brazilian Leonardo, Milan has become a more adventurous side to one that we have come to recognise. The Italians failed to keep a single clean sheet during the group stages and hold the 5th worst defensive home record in the Serie A, conceding 1.25 goals per game at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Perhaps the aging legs of Nesta, Gatusso, and Pirlo is having it's toll.
Manchester United, the Premier League's top scorers, have attacking players that are in a rich vein of form at the moment. Led by Wayne Rooney ofcoarse, the like of Nani and Valencia have displayed improved performances int the red shirt. Milan do have many weapons of their own with Ronaldinho, Pirlo and Beckham especially dangerous from set pieces, in addition to strikers Huntelaar and the returning Pato.
In closing, I feel both teams are not as secure defensively. Manchester United will miss the services of Vidic but regain Ferdinand, a player that has not convinced this season. Wes Brown and Johnny Evans are not the most dependable where as the right side of defense is also a problem area with the ageing Neville or the inexperienced Rafael expected to slot in.
Pick: Over 2 goals @1.87 (sbobet, 10 units)
AC Milan 2 - 3 Manchester United
